reorder
Rearrange your PDF pages and create a new file in your chosen order.
Put your PDF pages
in the right order.
Reorder PDF pages visually by dragging them into the sequence you want. Rockspace creates a new PDF using that exact page order, making it easier to reorganize documents without manually rebuilding them.
Arrange the pages first, then create the reordered document when the sequence looks right.
Reorder in three steps
Add your PDF
Upload a PDF using the workspace. The document is loaded and each page is displayed as a visual card.
Drag the pages
Grab any page and move it to a different position. The order numbers update as you rearrange the document.
Create the PDF
When the sequence is ready, create a new PDF with the pages copied in your chosen order.
Think in pages, not numbers.
The page thumbnails give you a visual overview of the document, while the order number shows where each page will appear in the generated PDF.
Fix the structure of a document.
Correct scanned pages
Put scanned pages back into their intended sequence when they were combined incorrectly.
Organize reports
Move sections, appendices, or supporting pages into a more logical reading order.
Prepare documents
Arrange a PDF into the sequence you want before sending, printing, or archiving it.
The original file stays untouched.
Reordering does not rewrite your uploaded PDF. Instead, the tool reads the current page sequence and creates a separate PDF containing the same pages in their new order.
How the reordered PDF is created
Read the document
The uploaded PDF is read and its pages are rendered as visual previews for the workspace.
Follow your order
The page sequence in the workspace becomes the sequence used to construct the output document.
Create a new PDF
The selected sequence is copied into a new PDF, which is then downloaded as a reordered document.
The current implementation uses PDF.js to render the page previews and pdf-lib to construct the reordered PDF. The page order is determined by the order of the page cards when you create the document.
Reorder PDF questions
Can I move any page to any position?+
Yes. Pages can be dragged to a different position within the page grid. The displayed order number changes to reflect the new position.
Does reordering remove any pages?+
No. Reordering changes the sequence of the pages. The current tool copies every page into the new PDF using the order you created.
Can I preview the pages before creating the PDF?+
Yes. Each page is rendered as a thumbnail inside the workspace, allowing you to visually inspect the document while arranging it.
What happens to the original PDF?+
The original uploaded file is not rewritten. A new PDF is generated from the pages in their new order.
Can I reorder a scanned PDF?+
Yes. The tool works with the page structure of the PDF, so scanned documents can also be rearranged as long as the file can be loaded successfully.
What is the output file called?+
The generated file uses the original filename with “-reordered.pdf” appended to it.
